Description of the therapy: Development of indipendent living skills for children with disabilities starts from basic self-servicing, including training of their culinary skills.
The environmental adjustment of the kitchen requires wider doors and entrances and the handles should be available for children with mobility impairments both on the walls, doors and furniture. The accessible furniture, washbasin, dishwashing machine, the adjustable shelves and other supplies are supporting the development of culinary skills of those with mobility impairments.
It is essential to first of all create safer environment for children with disabilities to fully participate in everyday life and to possess independent living skills.As well this model aims to promote the idea of the accessible kitchen among the families in Armenia.
Number of annually serviced children: The kitchen commodity will be applied by children above 12 years old under guidance of therapists and annually it will enhance the independent living skills for around 50 children.
